Frequently Asked Questions
How does FarmArmour identify insects?
FarmArmour uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) computer vision technology to identify insects that you send from your camera or stored images.
What type of insects does FarmArmour identify?
FarmArmour was designed to identify the majority of the top 40 most serious pest threat insects for Australia. But pests such as the brown marmorated stink bug, khapra beetle and warehouse beetle can impact farmers anywhere in the world.
FarmArmour has been designed to minimise false negatives- consequently, it takes a cautionary approach in identifying threat insects.
Users will see the biological order of the insect, the family, and if it is a particular threat, the genus.
